The Bihar School Board Examination Board has cancelled the Bihar STET 2020 after investigation committee probed into various cases of irregularities and paper leak during the exam that was held on January 28, 2020.
The investigation committee released its report and suggested cancellation of BSTET Exam 2019 which was held in January month.
The committee has also asked the BSEB to hold re-examination exam at a later date.
According to the report submitted by the committee, there were several irregularities including allegation of paper leak that were made against the conduct of Bihar STET 2020 exam.
In a press release issued by BSEB, it is informed that the BSTET 2020 has been cancelled and the date of re- examination will be notified in the due course of time.
A total of 2 lakh 47 thousand 241 candidates had appeared for the BSTET 2020 that was conducted in two shifts across 317 centres on January 28.
A four- member committee was constituted that was headed by Chief Vigilance Officer Nilkamal to probe into the matter. It was found that question paper was leaked and circulated through mobile phone.
Bihar STET 2020 Exam was held at 319 exam centres across the state on 28th January 2020. The exam was held in two separate session in which a total of 2,47 lakh students had participated.
Of this, the total number students who participate in the first session was 1,81,738 while in the second session, 65,530 students had appeared for the exam. With the cancelation of Bihar STET 2020 exam, the fate of these students again hangs in balance.
