Bihar’s New CM Samrat Choudhary: In a major political transformation for the state, the resignation of Nitish Kumar as Chief Minister of Bihar has resulted in Samrat Choudhary becoming the new Chief Minister. Choudhary is expected to take his oath of office as Bihar Chief Minister on Wednesday April 15 which makes him the first BJP member to become Chief Minister in the state.

The Bharatiya Janata Party, the single-largest party in the 243-member Assembly with 89 MLAs, has elected Samrat Choudhary as its legislature party leader. Choudhary received unanimous support from the BJP legislative party members who selected him as their leader.
