The Bhartiya Janata Party, MP from Ajmer and former union minister, Sanwar Lal Jat passed away in Delhi on Wednesday. Jat, who had been in the coma after he collapsed at a party meeting chaired by party national president, Amit Shah in Jaipur on 22 July, was shifted to AIIMS by an air ambulance.
Jat had served as minister of state for water resources in the Narendra Modi government before the Cabinet reshuffled last year.
He was also appointed as the chairman of the state farmers’ commission in October last year.
