“The BJP manifesto to make 75 promises for 2022 to mark 75 years of India’s independence,” said party president Amit Shah.


With the first phase of elections just three days away, the Bharatiya Janata Party on Monday is set to release party manifesto. Senior BJP leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, party president Amit Shah are expected to launch the manifesto, described as “Sankalp Patra”. The tagline for the party manifesto is “Phir Ek Bar, Modi Sarkar”.

On April 2, Congress president Rahul Gandhi had released the party’s manifesto in presence of UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi, former prime minister Manmohan Singh and senior Congress leader P Chidambaram.

Rahul Gandhi had released its manifesto titled ‘Will Deliver’, in which special focus was given to youth and farmer. From opening vacancies for job creation to providing a minimum support income of Rs 72,000 per year for the poor families – the party went all out to woo the voters. The Congress manifesto also pledged to investigate Rafale plane deal along with several deals the party entered into by the BJP Government in the last 5 years.

The Lok Sabha elections will take place across seven phases and the counting for the votes will begin on May 23. In Phase I of the voting for the 17th Lok Sabha, elections will take place in 91 Lok Sabha constituencies across 20 states on April 11.
