Blogger Day 2023

Blogger Day 2023: Blogger Day is annually observed on August 5. This day honours Blogger, one of the most popular websites in the globe. Everyone who has ever created a blog has probably utilised Blogger. This platform allows individuals to convey themselves for both personal and professional purposes. Some bloggers use blogs to disseminate information, and it has become an excellent method to consume news on a variety of topics, including politics, sports, technology, and lifestyle. This day should be celebrated by the blogging community in particular, as it honours one of the platforms that contribute to our freedom of expression.

Blogger Day 2023: History

There were several digital predecessors to blogging. Before becoming ubiquitous, digital communities existed in various forms. In the 1990s, WebEx and other Internet forum software created threaded conversations, or ‘threads.’ The American online content management system Blogger was established by Pyra Labs on August 23, 1999; Google acquired it in 2003. The journals are hosted by Google and are accessible via a subdomain of blogspot.com. Users can also have their own custom domain (such as www.example.com) by directing a domain to Google’s servers using D.N.S. facilities. Up to 100 blogs or domains are permitted per account.

Blogger is one of the earliest blog publication platforms. After Google acquired Pyra Labs in February 2003, formerly premium features of Blogger became free. Google acquired Picasa and its photo-sharing service Hello the following year, in 2004. It was subsequently integrated into Blogger so that users could upload images to their blogs.

In 2004, Blogger underwent a significant redesign that included templates compliant with web standards, individual archive pages for posts, comments, and email posting. In 2006, the beta version of this new version, titled “Invader,” was released alongside the gold version. Then, users were transferred to Google’s servers, and by May 2007, Blogger was entirely hosted on Google’s servers.

Blogger announced in 2015 that it would no longer permit its users to publish explicit content unless it provided “substantial public benefit,” such as in “artistic, educational, documentary, or scientific contexts.” Four days later, on February 28, 2015, Blogger reversed its decision and reverted to its previous policy, which permitted explicit images and videos if the blog was labelled “adult.”

Five Blogging Tips for Novices

Your blog posts must include an engaging introduction, body, and conclusion.

Visual content such as an image, video, or infographic helps maintain your blog post’s visual appeal and, consequently, the readers’ interest.

Try to hone in on a specific niche for your blog, as specialising in a particular topic while blogging will lend you credibility on that subject.

Your blog must be updated on a regular basis, as irregular or infrequent posts will not help readers remember your site.

Ensure that each blog post contains links to other posts to keep readers on your blog page.
