A major incident has taken place in Muzaffarpur district of Bihar. On Sunday, 6 people were killed and several others injured when a boiler exploded at the Modi Crisps and Noodles Factory in Bela Industrial Area.

The sound of the blast was so loud that people gathered there from adjoining area and informed the police. Several officials including DM-SP reached the spot after receiving information about the same. There is a possibility that the death toll may increase.

According to the information, the sound of the boiler bursting was heard up to 5 kilometers away. Several other factories nearby were also damaged due to the blast. Fire brigade vehicles have reached the spot after receiving information and the victims are being identified.

People familiar with the matter said adjacent establishments were also damaged in the explosion. Those living in the vicinity said they heard a loud thud when the explosion rocked the factory.

It is yet to be ascertained how many people were working in the factory at the time of the accident. Relief rescue operations are still going on in this regard. At present, all of them have been evacuated from the factory and the fire brigade and administration have taken the lead.
