After hours of traffic congestion in the national capital and near by areas on Thursday due to a stir against the newly-implemented Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), the traffic department on Friday advised people to take DND or Akshardham to reach Delhi as road No. 13A between Mathura Road and Kalindi Kunj was closed for vehicular movement.
Commuters going to Kalindi Kunj Bypass Road might also face some difficulty as there is heavy traffic near Khader.
Meanwhile, all entry and exit gates of metro stations were opened and normal services were restored in all stations. Earlier on Friday, the DMRC had said that due to security reasons the entry and exit gates of Jamia Millia Islamia and Jasola Vihar/Shaheen Bagh metro stations were shut.
On Thursday, as many as 21 flights from Delhi were cancelled while 16 were delayed amid ongoing protests over the Citizenship Amendment Act.
Witnessing the intense situation due to protests resulting jams on roads, three airlines — Vistara, Air India and IndiGo — had announced that their passengers, who are stuck in traffic due to anti-CAA protests at various parts of Delhi, will be adjusted in subsequent flights.
