On Monday night, the Punjab Police intelligence wing headquarters was targeted with an RPG by an unidentified person(s). No one was injured in yesterday’s incident.
Director General of Police (DGP) V K Bhawra after a meeting with senior officials told reporters here that a projectile had hit the building and the explosive used in it seems to be TNT (trinitrotoluene).
He held a meeting with DGP and other officers into the matter at his residence and sought a report on the course of action taken so far.
A rocket-propelled grenade hit the Punjab Police’ intelligence wing headquarters around 7.45 pm on Monday. The explosion shattered the window panes on one of the floors of the building.
Mann said that it is high time that countrymen must unite to wipe out the parties sowing seed of divisiveness in society.
Two policemen were among those injured. On Saturday morning the Punjab government temporarily suspended mobile internet services from 9:30 am to 6 pm in the city today.
In the run up to the Punjab Assembly polls in February, AAP leaders had targeted successive governments in the state for allegedly pushing the state into a debt trap.

Harbhajan made his debut in 1998 and the last international match he played was in 2016 but official retirement was announced in 2021.
Bhagwant Mann took an oath of chief ministership on March 16 at Shaheed Bhagat Singh’s ancestral village in Khatkar Kalan and inducted 10 ministers into the Cabinet on March 19.
The meeting of the AAP MLAs will be held in Mohali and Kejriwal will join it via video conferencing from Delhi at 12 noon.
Earlier, on March 17, Punjab’s newly-elected MLAs including Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann took oath as members of the Legislative Assembly.
The party also decided to form a high-powered panel to take feedback from its leaders as well people on the election debacle. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) had stormed to power after winning 92 of the 117 Assembly seats.
The decision comes close in the heels of AAP’s successful Assembly election in Punjab, which saw Bhagwant Mann become the new Chief Minister of the state.
