After a cool morning in Central Florida on Wednesday, temperatures will rise to around 70 degrees by the afternoon.

Along with the milder temperatures, the following cold front will bring additional cloud cover throughout the day.

Beginning Wednesday night, our overall trend will shift to a more active picture for the weekend.

The latest in a succession of cold fronts is anticipated late Wednesday night and into Thursday early. Unlike Monday’s front, this one appears to have more moisture accessible to it.

The best odds of rain (60-80%) will continue to be in places north of the Kissimmee-Titusville line, with coverage a little lower in areas south. Although most of the activity should be minor, a brief wind gust or lightning strike into the early morning hours of Thursday cannot be ruled out.

After the front passes through by sunrise Thursday, temperatures will fall back into the 60s as the skies gradually clear. Temperatures are anticipated to rise again after a brief cooling as another front approaches the region by Saturday.

Temperatures will reach the mid-70s over the weekend, with rain returning by Saturday.

Showers and storms will be entering our northern counties before daylight on Saturday, with widespread showers and storms expected throughout the morning and afternoon as a stronger front hits Central Florida. Lightning, strong gusts, heavy rain, and even small hail are all potential storm risks.

According to the most recent model run, although storms may be powerful, the potential for severe storms appears to be restricted.

Don’t put away your rain gear just yet, as the active wet weather is expected to last through the weekend and into early next week, with coverage ranging from 40-60%.

Long-range forecasts predict an even greater storm Monday night, with the possibility for strong to severe storms Tuesday afternoon and evening.
