Child Tax Credits 2023: Refunds for Child Tax Credits (CTCs) are a great way for families to relax by getting money back that they should have. But what if you haven’t gotten your refund yet? Who do you get in touch with?
CTCs are a type of cash aid given to families with children who apply. They are meant to help parents or guardians who qualify pay for child support and offset the costs of having a child.
The CTCs were a tax break that let families who qualified get a refund for every approved child under 17 years old.
Child Tax Credits 2023: For those who haven’t gotten their return yet
When it comes to getting your CTCs return or payment, there are a few things you can do:
Make sure that you meet the requirements for CTCs.
Visit the website or follow their updates to find out if there have been any delays or changes in how the CTC funds are being sent out. There are many reasons why delays can happen.
If you still think you are qualified, the IRS has online tools, helplines, and other resources that can tell you about the state of your payment and any problems that might be happening.
Make sure that the IRS has the most up-to-date information on you, such as your address and bank account information.
Your CTC payment could be delayed if you haven’t paid your taxes or given the IRS the information they need.
I got the Child Tax Credit in 2023. When can I expect my tax refund?
CTC refunds should arrive by February 28, 2024, if the person claimed the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) or the Additional Child Tax Credit (ACTC), filed their return online, picked a direct payment refund method, and there are no problems with the return.
People can get their refunds earlier, but the “Check Where’s My Refund” link lets them see when their specific return date is. At the very least, most early EITC/ACTC cases should get an update by February 18.
