Every month, Indian banks have their fixed holidays based on festivals and important events. There are two types of bank holidays now, the first type is a state holiday and the second is the National holiday. State holidays are only stated specific, a bank holiday in one state will not necessarily mean a holiday in another state too while national holidays are the one on which all the banks across the nation are non-operational.
In August, the banks will remain closed for 13 days, including Saturdays and Sundays. The Bank holidays in August will start with Bakrid and will end with Onam festival on August 31. According to Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI’s) holiday list, the Bakrid holiday is on August 1, Saturday followed by Sunday, another holiday.
There will be separate holidays for the states.
