Indian Railways are incurring losses every day due to lockdown in India due to coronavirus. Indian Railways has taken a major decision to compensate this deficit. Indian Railways has decided to cut down salaries and other allowances of all employees.

According to media reports, Indian Railways decided to cut the allowances of 13 lakh employees to compensate for the losses being incurred by the railways due to coronavirus lock-down.

The Ministry of Railways has planned to ban salaries and allowances of more than 13 lakh officers and employees. Under which the allowance of overtime duty including TADA will be abolished.

Further, the Ministry of Railways has also planned to ban the allowance per kilometre for running the train to the railway driver and guard. Further, the railways were already undergoing economic hardship, which has now decided to cut the allowance for overtime duty by 50%

According to a report, Indian Railways has recommended a ban on all these salaries and allowances for six months. Further, it has been decided to cut salaries from 10% to 35%. Apart from that, other facilities are available. They will be cut by 50%.
