Dead rat found in a mid-day meal served to students of Janta Inter College in Muzaffarnagar district of Uttar Pradesh. Nine students’ health deteriorated after consuming the meal, were rushed to the district hospital.

On Tuesday morning, the NGO workers gave 9 children including a teacher to eat mid-day meals. While serving mid-day meals in the second row, a dead rat appeared in a baby pot.

9 children including a teacher had tasted the mid-day meal. Out of these two-three children are vomiting, the college administration has admitted 9 children and teacher to the district hospital.

Taking cognizance of the case, the BSA sent the District Coordinator Vikas Tyagi of Mid-day Meal to the spot for investigation.

The Principal of the college, Dr. Vinod Kumar informed that 9 children have been sent to the district hospital. The mid-day meal was tasted by a teacher initially, he too has been sent to the hospital. He told that the NGO prepares mid-day meal in Kukra and supplies it here.
