Braving cold weather, anti-CAA protesters have decided to continue their agitation at Delhi’s Shaheen Bagh on Sunday, January 12 at about 11 AM.

For the last 28 days, hundreds of people, led by women, have been demonstrating at the venue, blocking a key road which links Noida to Delhi.

Keeping in mind the unity of people of India, the protesters have called for a peaceful sit-in protest where people from all the differing religious backgrounds will read their own respective religious texts to uphold and celebrate the Indian values of acceptance and fraternity.

According to the amended Citizenship law, members of Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, Parsi and Christian communities who have come from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan till December 31, 2014 and facing religious persecution there will not be treated as illegal immigrants but given Indian citizenship. The law excludes Muslims.
