Delhi MCD Election Result 2022 LIVE: Results declared by the State Election Commission (SEC) for the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) polls show that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has clinched 92 seats, while the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has gotten hold of 73. The MCD has 250 wards, and a party needs 126 to win.
Three Delhi MCD Election Exit Polls on Monday predicted a clear win for the Aam Aadmi Party in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) polls, ending the BJP’s 15-year reign at the civic body.
The BJP, which has ruled the civic bodies since 2007, won 181 of the 270 municipal wards in the 2017 civic body elections, easily defeating the AAP and the Congress. The AAP won 48 wards, while the Congress won 30.
The Centre merged the three municipal corporations in Delhi earlier this year into one MCD with 250 wards. Under the three corporations, there were a total of 272 wards. The AAP and the BJP have both fielded 250 candidates, while the Congress has 247. There are a total of 382 independents. Among other parties, the BSP ran in 132 wards, the NCP in 26, the Janata Dal (United) in 22, and the AIMIM in 15. The results of the MCD elections will be announced on December 7 following the counting of votes. On Sunday, more than half of the total 1.45 crore eligible votes were cast in the elections for the total 250 MCD wards.

As the AAP won the MCD elections by a landslide, party national convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is expected to address the media shortly from the party headquarters, where celebrations have already begun.
The AAP has wrested the MCD from BJP, crossing the halfway mark of 126 seats.

Both the BJP and the AAP have achieved their first victory in the Delhi civic elections.
Kamaljeet Sehrawat, a candidate for the BJP, is currently ahead of Sudha Sinha, a candidate for the AAP, in the Dwarka-B ward.
Promila Gupta of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is now ahead of Amarlata Sangwan of the BJP in Timarpur by 696 votes.
Sweta Khatri of the AAP is now in the lead over Keshrani Neel Daman Khatri of the BJP by 511 votes.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is currently in the lead in 125 seats, while the BJP is in the lead in 116 wards. The lead held by the Congress has been cut down to only five wards.
