According to varsity officials, the second round of the seat allocation list for admission to undergraduate programmes will be announced on Sunday.

The seats allotted to candidates in the second round will be available for two days until November 1, according to the university.

In the first round of seat allocations at Delhi University, 59,100 candidates were admitted. After the first round of allocation was completed, the university displayed vacant seats for the second round.

The candidates had two days to choose an upgrade and reorder their preferences. A varsity official said Thursday that nearly 60% of them have chosen an upgrade to their higher ‘programme+college combination’ preference.

“Based on the availability of seats, the university will declare CSAS Round-II on 05:00 P.M. Sunday, October 30, 2022.” More than 25% of the 59,100 candidates have frozen their seats, he added. Candidates for the Second Round of allocations should accept their assigned seat between 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 31, 2022, and 04:59 p.m. Tuesday, November 1,” according to a senior varsity official.

The university allocated 80,164 seats across various categories in the first round.

The total number of seats available in DU colleges is 70,000, but the varsity has allocated additional seats in the unreserved (OBC-NCL and EWS) and reserved (SC, ST, and PWBD) categories in the first list, bringing the total to 80,164. Out of the 80,164 candidates, 72,800 accepted the college and course that was assigned to them.

The university announced that in the first round of seat allotment, each course in each college will keep 20% extra seats for candidates from the unreserved categories – OBC-NCL and EWS – and 30% for candidates from the reserved categories – SC, ST, and PWBD.

For the first time, admissions to 79 undergraduate programmes across 67 colleges, departments, and centres at Delhi University are being made using Common University Entrance Test (CUET) scores.

Until last year, admissions were made based on merit lists based on Class 12 results, which saw skyrocketing cut-offs. Every year, the university would release up to seven cut-off lists.
