Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, whose latest movie Raman Raghav 2.0 hit theatres, said that he believes his film Dev D, is the most overrated film in India.
Kashyap revealed this during a press event for Raman Raghav 2.0, psychological thriller, when he was asked by a journalist to name the most overrated film in India, Kashyap said, “It has to be Dev D”.
The film, which was a modern-day take on Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay’s classic Bengali novel Devdas, featured Abhay Deol, Mahie Gill and Kalki Koechlin in lead role.
The movie was, however, appreciated by critics and cinegoers alike and did a good business at box office. It also won several awards.
The movie garnered several Filmfare awards, including Best Supporting Actress to Kalki Koechlin for playing Chanda.
