DIY: Check out some super easy ways to make 'Rakhi' at home for Raksha Bandhan

Raksha Bandhan 2020 falls on August 3. Popularly known as ‘Rakhi’, the festival arrives in full moon day during Shravan month. On this occasion, sisters tie ‘Rakhi’ or ‘Raksha Dhagga’ on brother’s wrist and wish for the long life and success of brothers. In return, brothers promise to protect her sister from any bad.

It is believed that once Lord Krishna sustained an injury on his wrist by a sharp weapon. Draupadi, the wife of Pandavas, tore the loose end of her sari and tied that around Lord Krishna’s wrist. He accepted it as ‘Raksha Sutra’ and when Draupadi was in process of being stripped off her clothes by Duhsashan in the darbar of Duryodhan, Lord Krishna protected her from extreme disgrace by supplying her an endless sari.

Raksha Bandhan has been an inclusion of street shops decorated with colourful rakhis, and gifts. Brothers and sisters would go for rakhi shopping and choose their rakhis all by themselves. However, this year due to the coronavirus pandemic and lockdown in several states, it is difficult and unsafe at the same time to go out for rakhi shopping. Therefore, DIY Rakhis can be made at home with simple materials.

Here are some super easy DIY Rakhis for Raksha Bandhan 2020:

A Homemade Rakhi can be made with any supplies you have at home, but as a basic, you will need –
