Dombivli Return movie review: Film loses path in second half, Sandeep Kulkarni shines again

The first part of the movie, Dombivli Fast released in 2005 was successful at the box office and now the second instalment of the movie has returned with Dombivli returns but the best thing that comes is that the second instalment of the film has nothing to do with the first part and it’s not the continuation of the first one.

The only thing that the sequel has in common is the title and the lead actor, Sandeep Kulkarni. The movie revolves around a common man Anant Velankar (Sandeep Kulkarni), and his happy nuclear family. A middle-class government employee working in South Mumbai, he spends most of his time travelling from his home in Dombivli to CST, to and fro through Mumbai’s lifeline – the local trains. The routine goes on as a mechanism when a sudden incidence changes things upside down and the story plot thickens.

The series of incidents that happens after that makes the movie thrilling and keeps you amused until the end of it. The plot goes on a rollercoaster ride after the thrill deepens in the movie.

The highlight of the movie is the stellar performance by Sandeep Kulkarni. He has done a superb job in the movie as Anant yet again.

However, the first part of the movie keeps the audience hooked and engrossed while the second part of the movie becomes confusing and loses its pace.  The songs and item numbers in the movie seem to be put forcibly and the second part of the movie looks stretched.

The thrill in the first part of the movie loses its pace in the second. The first instalment of the movie lived up to the title of the movie till the end of it which this sequel fails.

Overall, the movie has some pros and some cons but the cons can be highlighted in the movie towards the second half of the movie.

The movie becomes a must watch for the amazing performances especially by Sandeep Kulkarni.
