Drone cameras to keep an eye on Naxal-affected areas in Odisha

Now drone is going to be used in Odisha’s naxal areas to keep a vigilant eyes over the suspicious Naxal activities.

There is no denial that technological advancement has helped us in a lot of ways. It has changed the way we communicate, travel, learn and live. Life has been simplified in terms of productivity and education. Drone is again a production of such a technology that is redefining a lot of things in human lives. Now drone is going to be used in Odisha’s naxal areas to keep a vigilant eyes over the suspicious activities.

Odisha Director General of Police (DGP) Rajendra Prasad Sharma has informed that the police will procure drone cameras for the surveillance of severely Naxal-affected districts to augment security in the state.

It will be used by Odisha police to watch the movement of Naxals in Malkangiri and Koraput districts of the state. Initially as a part of experiment, the police will use drone for 60 minutes during night.

“We will buy some drones in this financial year. The first drone that we are buying will be used for surveillance of severely Naxal-affected districts to augment security,” said DGP Rajendra Sharma to ANI.

Sharma further added that the state police has also decided to use the drones for surveillance and traffic management during the Men’s Hockey World Cup that will start from November 28 and will last till December 16 in Bhubaneshwar.
