The most hated vegetable is back again on the market, but this time with a twist. Move over Chocolate, Strawberry, bubblegum, bacon, banana and the plain old vanilla because we have our very own humble ‘baingan’ or eggplant as the new flavour of Durex condoms. Whoever said that sex can’t be wild and fun?
Twitter almost had an orgasm after knowing that that this purple vegetable has other uses than just baingan ka bharta, and there were numerous jokes on how ‘Food porn’ has another connotation now. Interestingly, the concept came from the eggplant emoji which was used by Durex in a campaign for ‘safe sex’ and ‘safer sexting.’
Whether this ‘homemade-favourite-of-every-Indian-mother’ will be smashing hit (pun intended) or a bad miss is upto the consumers to decide, but till then let ‘baingans be baingans.’

Maybe you should avoid using the words ‘Breaking’ News if you’re a condom brand. Might not be auspicious! https://t.co/McWtAdc8Ni
