Fake News About Kannada Actor Divya Spandana: On Wednesday, social media was flooded with reports of actress-turned-politician Divya Spandana, also known as Ramya, passing away. Several news outlets have debunked the rumour that the chief of the Congress is alive and touring Geneva.
As the hashtag #DivyaSpandana began to trend on X, formerly Twitter, anxious fans attempted to confirm the rumour.Chairman of the IT Cell for the Congress, Thiru. KT Lakshmi Kanthan, dismissed the rumours as “100% false” and clarified that she is alive and well.

An earlier journalist also debunked the rumours, verifying that they were false.
“Just conversed with @divyaspandana. She is in Geneva and was resting peacefully until she received a call. The negligent individual who tweeted this and the news organisations that disseminated it as breaking news should be ashamed of themselves. #DivyaSpandana,” Dhanya Rajendran wrote on X with the hashtag.

Ms. Spandana, according to her post, was “sleeping peacefully” in Geneva and was unaware of the allegation. “It was really the strangest conversation, continued calling @divyaspandana and she didnt pick first few times and naturally I was panicking. Finally, she did, and I had to say, “I’m glad you’re still alive.” She replied, “Who the hell are you to say I’ve died?” She stated, “#DivyaSpandana”

Fake News About Kannada Actor Divya Spandana
Although it is unclear where the death rumours originated, some supporters have proposed a plausible explanation. Dhanya Spandana shares the same name as the late wife of renowned Kannada actor-director Vijay Raghavendra, who passed away in Bangkok last month. Some users of X asserted that the allegation may have originated from confusion regarding the same name.
In 2012, the Kannada actor joined the Youth Congress and served as its social media director. She has been attributed with enhancing the social media presence of Congress and Rahul Gandhi. She resigned in 2018 after her responsibilities were reportedly diminished.
Ms. Spandana, a former member of the Lok Sabha, recently disclosed that she had suicidal thoughts and that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi provided her with emotional support.”My mother is the most influential person in my life, followed by my father and Rahul Gandhi,” she continued.
