How are NBA Awards votes conducted?
The MVP of the NBA Awards is the player who performed best during the regular season. MVP also includes Defensive Player, Most Improved Player, Rookie, Sixth Man, and Coach of the Year.
A jury of 100 Canadian and American sportswriters and broadcasters chooses category winners. Fans must submit ranked voting ballots with their five top picks for each award after the regular season.
The highest choice receives 10 points, followed by 7, 5, 3, and 1. To play in 2023–24, athletes must complete 65 regular season events.
Voting procedures for NBA Fan Favorites
Voter unanimity pertains to the MVP and all other NBA Awards. However, they do have the opportunity to express their opinions through the NBA Fan Favorites awards.
Dunk of the Years, Style of the Year, Handle of the Year, Assists of the Year, Photo of the Year, and Block of the Year are the six categories in which supporters may submit their ballots. At this time, all seven categories of the NBA Fan Favorites webpage are accepting votes.
These accolades will be determined solely by admirers, providing them with the opportunity to express their opinions. In addition to LeBron James, Kyrie Irving, and Steph Curry, NBA MVP candidates Doncic, Jokic, and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander are also vying for these honors.
