Flipkart Price Lock Feature: Flipkart’s largest annual sale, the Flipkart Big Billion Days, will shortly commence. The BBD Sale is well-known for its deep discounts on consumer electronics, including smartphones, laptops, and even domestic appliances. The company holds this annual promotion during the festive month of October.
Flipkart has made a significant announcement regarding its upcoming BBD event, which will also commemorate the sale’s 10th anniversary. The company is developing a new function that will allow consumers to lock in their deals without worrying about the product’s availability or the discounts changing.
Flipkart Price Lock Feature
Flipkart is working on two new significant features ahead of its biggest annual sale. The e-commerce behemoth will shortly introduce a ‘Price Lock’ function that will allow customers to lock in any limited-time offer on Flipkart. Flipkart’s Chief Product and Technology Officer, Jeyandaram Venugopal, has confirmed that it will be included in forthcoming holiday sales.
Price Secure on Flipkart will function similarly to flight and hotel reservations. By paying a modest fee, users will be able to lock any deal price on the website. Later, the user will be able to purchase the product at the same discounted price, regardless of whether or not the promotion is currently active.
Venugopal added that users need not fret about the product running out of stock. After reserving a deal with a price lock, the user will be able to purchase the product at the same price when the item becomes available again.
In October, Flipkart Great Billion Days will be held. In the past two years, the BBD sale has acquired a reputation for offering substantial iPhone discounts. However, as BBD progresses, transaction prices begin to gradually increase by Rs 1,000 per day. When a user secures the price of a deal using price lock, they are able to complete their purchase even after the sale has ended.
Flipkart will revamp its loyalty program.
Venugopal also stated that Flipkart will enhance its consumer loyalty program to provide enhanced benefits. However, he did not provide any additional information on this subject.
Currently, Flipkart has two loyalty programs. One is the nearly five-year-old Flipkart Plus, and the other is the newly launched Flipkart Plus Premium Membership. Both programs provide users with SuperCoins based on their purchase history. These tokens can be redeemed in the future for gift vouchers and discounts on the Flipkart website.
Flipkart also intends to redesign its website’s homepage. Additionally, the company is striving to enhance the search function on its website and application so that it returns more relevant results. Venugopal stated that Flipkart uses artificial intelligence and large language models (LLM) to enhance its product search.
Flipkart will introduce virtual trial rooms for cosmetics and personal care products in the near future. It will require the user to submit a selfie, after which experts will assist the user and recommend suitable skincare products.
Venugopal stated that all of these new features will soon be implemented on the Flipkart website and mobile application in preparation for the forthcoming Big Billion Days Sale.
