From I am neither Nana nor Tanushree to supporting #MeToo; Amitabh Bachchan joins the campaign to be on right side of crowd

Finally, Amitabh Bachchan expressed his opinion on the issue of sexual harassment on workplace after #MeToo movement took the country by storm. In an interview that was taken to mark his 76th birthday, Big B broke his silence and said, “women should not be subjected to misbehaviour at workplace.” However, the Shahanshah of Bollywood has decided to not to celebrate his birthday this year.

“No woman should ever be subjected to any kind of misbehaviour, or disorderly conduct ; especially at her work place. Such acts should immediately be brought to the notice of concerned authorities, and corrective measures be taken, either through filing complaints or a recourse to law. Discipline and civic, social and moral curriculums, should be adopted at a very early educational level. Women children and the weaker sections of our society are the most vulnerable. They need to be under special protective care. It has been most heartening to see women representations in most work vocations, on the increase in our country. It would be an unrepairable blemish if we are not able to provide them the welcome they deserve and the dignity of the security of their presence,” said Amitabh Bachchan in the interview.

Earlier, he tried to dodge commenting on the Tanushree Dutta’s allegation of sexual assault against Nana Patekar and had faced a lot of backlash and was also brutally trolled on social media for avoiding direct comments on the controversy.

The vetran actor turned 76 this year but will reportedly be not celebrating his birthday following the two deaths in the extended family. The family recently attended the cremation ceremony of daughter Shweta Nanda’s father-in-law Rajan Nanda and her mother-in-law Ritu nanda’s mother, Krishna Raj Kapoor.

Amitabh Bachcha’s good friend and one of the favourite co-stars, Rishi Kapoor is also not keeping well and has gone for medical treatment to the US for a very serious ailment. However, the actor took to Twitter to thank his fans and well wishers for their love.
