Bihar chief minister, Nitish Kumar, on Monday slammed the Congress-led Karnataka government over the ‘slow speed’ of the investigation into the murder of journalist, Gauri Lankesh. Attacking the state government, Kumar said that there was a ‘lack of concrete lead’ in the murder case.

Kumar was speaking to the media after his weekly programme ‘Lok Samvad’ at his residence when he expressed anguish over the lack of any development in the murder probe. He termed it a failure of the state government.

He was quoted in a report saying, “What has happened in Gauri Lankesh case? Is there any news about the arrest of any culprit? I am not getting any news about any arrest.” He asked if any arrests were made in connection to the murder in Karnataka.

The Bihar CM also talked about GST on petrol and diesel, an issue which has recently been in talks among political leaders, following Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley’s comment that bringing the two under the GST regime can check the price hike.

Kumar also talked about simultaneous polling to Lok Sabha and state assemblies, an idea originally advocated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
