Gold and Silver Prices Today: On Friday, the price of yellow metal futures in the US was flat with a positive bias. However, white metal futures were trading in the green because of rising prices for food and other goods.
At the last check, MCX gold prices for April 5 were quiet at Rs 65,676 per 10 grams. Early in the day, they went from Rs 65,643 to Rs 65,684. MCX silver futures went up 256 rupees, or 0.34%, to Rs 75,482 per kg on May 5.
Also, the price of silver options that ended on May 3, 2024, went up by Rs 264, or 0.35 percent. On the MCX, they were now being bought and sold for Rs 75,490 per kg, up from Rs 75,226 at the last close.
Reuters says that a bigger-than-expected rise in the U.S. producer price index (PPI) in February made people less likely to think that the Federal Reserve would cut rates soon. This made Treasury yields and the dollar go up. Gold prices went down on Thursday because of this.
According to the most current metal report, spot gold was down 0.6% at $2,136.39 an ounce. The price of gold in the US dropped 0.6% to $2,167.5.
Silver’s price dropped 0.8% to $24.83 an ounce, making it a less expensive metal.
