Petrol And Diesel Prices Today On April 25

Petrol Prices Today: The state-run oil marketing companies (OMCs) have lowered the price of gasoline by 2 rupees per liter from March 15. Recently, the costs of gasoline and oil in the country went down for the first time since May 2022. This happened just days before the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections.

The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas posted today on X (formerly known as Twitter) a move to lower prices. It said that overall market participants (OMCs) had told the ministry about the changes to prices across the country.

Petrol now costs Rs 94.72 a liter in the national capital, down from Rs 96.72 a liter, and diesel costs Rs 87.62 a liter, down from Rs 89.62 a liter initially.

Now, a liter of petrol costs Rs 104.21 in Mumbai, Rs 103.94 in Kolkata, and Rs 100.75 in Chennai. Benzina costs Rs 92.15 a liter in Mumbai, Rs 90.76 a liter in Kolkata, and Rs 92.34 a liter in Chennai.

Rates vary from state to state because local taxes affect each state differently. After a total freeze on petrol and diesel prices that started on April 6, 2022, the latest change in fuel costs came from three state-owned fuel retailers: Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL), and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL).
