Gold Star Spouses Day 2023: The annual Gold Spouses Day is celebrated on April 5. We respect and support the families of fallen or hurt military personnel. A statute providing compensation for mothers and wives of battle fatalities was passed in 1929, and by 1936 National Gold Star Mother’s Day had been established as an annual event celebrated on the last Sunday in September. President Barack Obama eventually changed this name to Gold Star Mother’s and Family’s Day. 2010 saw the first Gold Star Wives’ Day, which was later renamed to the more inclusive Gold Star Spouse Day.
