Google Nearby Share Android

Google has also officially announced the Nearby Share feature for Android devices, on the line of Apple’s Airdrop. It will be an inbuilt feature that allows two Android devices to share files and apps faster.

According to the company, initially, Nearby Share was released for Google Pixel and select Samsung devices. But in the coming days, the feature will work on all devices with versions above Android 6.0. The app can also be called the alternative to the Chinese app Shareit. Notably, Google has launched this app in India after the Chinese app’s ban.

According to the statement, you can share files, photos, videos, and links, etc., through Google’s inbuilt app. The main thing is that it will work not just on one brand smartphone, but on all Android devices. In addition, Google will fully encrypt the information of the sender and receiver, while taking special care of the user’s privacy. All you need to do is update your Play Store for this feature.

Open Google Play > Go to the ‘Share Apps’ menu in My Apps & Games > Select the apps you want to share > Receiver will need to accept the request.

The 9to5Google report adds that the app-sharing feature via Google Nearby Share is “shockingly fast,” and maybe quicker than sharing over your home Internet connection.
