Google is set to launch a new feature to protect Android users from rogue applications. In the latest security measure, Google soon to launch Google Play Protect which will scan the user’s smartphone around the clock to detect any Android app holding any sort of malicious content. Additionally, Google will also ensure that the apps which are uploaded on Google Play Store are scanned by Google to ensure the safety of the user’s smartphone.

“All Android apps undergo rigorous security testing before appearing in the Google Play Store. We vet every app developer in Google Play and suspend those who violate our policies. So even before you download an app, you know it’s been checked and approved. Then, Play Protect scans billions of apps daily to make sure that everything remains spot on.” Google said.

Besides the Play Protect, Google will also roll out some other new feature, like ‘Find my Device’ and ‘Safe Browsing for Google Chrome’ were already available. While the first one helps an Android user find his/ her lost smartphone or erase all the data on it once its lost, the Safe Browsing for Google Chrome protects the user from any malicious website.

According to reports, Google is rolling out Play Protect home screen to every Android device running Google Mobile Services 11 or newer. If you see it (it’s in in the Google section of your settings, under Security), you’ll know that your device has scanned apps to make sure they’re clean. You probably won’t need to look at this page very often, but it’s there if you’re ever wondering whether a sketchy-sounding Play Store app poses a threat.
