Death and devastation have opened up a whole new challenge of infectious diseases for the Uttar Pradesh government. The low-lying areas of Uttar Pradesh are terribly hit by infections, killing more than six children in the row. Cases of diarrhoea and viral fever are reported from every house located in such areas.

Over 200 people have been taken ill due to infections and seven lives have been claimed by flood-caused diseases until now. There will be an enquiry to get to the roots of the infection, said CMO Dr Arun Pandey. The district headquarter has been informed about the spreading of diseases, however, there has been no response from their end.

Notably, this comes soon after Gorakhpur tragedy which scared over 100 families. Tragedy continued to envelop Gorakhpur’s BRD Medical college as 105 children were killed in the massacre. Soon after the tragedy that raised many questions on the Uttar Pradesh administration, Baba Raghav Das Medical College Principal, head of the department of anaesthesia and liquid oxygen supply company had been held responsible.
