Happy Birthday Shah Rukh Khan: 5 times Bollywood's Baadsah nailed negative role

It’s Shah Rukh Khan’s birthday!!

Words won’t do any justice if someone sits down to describe the love Bollywood’s Badshah has garnered across the world. The King Khan of Bollywood will turn 55 on November 2. Well, SRK doesn’t seem like 55 as he still rules the realm of Romance. The films he gifted his fans with are one of each kind.

Though it wasn’t a cakewalk journey of 25 years of Shah Rukh, he achieved his dreams with dedication and support from his family and fans. The actor has won hearts with his brilliant performances over the years.  However, during the initial days of his career, King of Romance wanted to do negative roles in his career. It was a big risk for his career, but if you don’t take risks, then you can’t taste success. This is what makes SRK so special. His negative portrayals itself given many chances to his fans to love him from the bottom of their heart.

On the occasion of SRK’s birthday, here are 5 best negative roles he nailed on the screen:

Anjaam

This film was released in 1994 right after his portrayal as a villain in Darr and Baazigar. This is another psycho-love thriller where Shahrukh Khan plays the role of Vijay who loves Shivani, which is played by Madhuri. When he does not get her, it gets him furious and he sets on the path of being a psychopath.

Darr

In 1993, SRK again made his negative impact with Yash Chopra’s romantic thriller Darr. His style of saying, I Love You K.K.K… Kiran! is still fresh in today’s young generations. Despite having Sunny Deol and Juhi Chawla in the lead roles, SRK stole all the limelight and became the star.

Don

This movie was a remake of Amitabh Bachchan’s Don. Along with Shahrukh Khan, there were other promising actors such as Priyanka Chopra and Arjun Rampal. The movie was named Don, the Chase Begin, and it was a chase with the character of Don played by none other than Shahrukh Khan.

Baazigar

Bollywood Badshah Shah Rukh Khan showed his negative side for the first time in Baazigar, starring Kajol and Shilpa Shetty. The story of the film was reportedly inspired by the Hollywood movie, A Kiss Before Dying. It was the first movie that featured the famous Shah Rukh-Kajol Jodi and was also a major commercial success at the time of its release. SRK won his first Filmfare Award in the Best Actor category for this film, which was also remade in Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada.

Duplicate

Mahesh Bhatt’s directorial venture Duplicate (1998) showed SRK in a double role for the first time. However, in this film, one character was a negative one.
