TikTok star Sonali Phogat, who contested in recently concluded Haryana Assembly polls on a Bharatiya Janata Party ticket from Adampur constituency, was assaulted in her native Bhothan Kalan village in Fatehabad district.
In a complaint filed to the police, Phogat alleged that she visited her father’s house on October 28, Monday. She said she was meeting with villagers who had called her at their homes.
According to a Tribune report Phogat alleged that her sister Rukesh and brother-in-law Aman Punia (Rukesh’s husband), residents of urban state in Hisar, also visited the house.
She alleged that her sister and sister’s husband began arguing with her and used abusive language against her.
On the basis of the complaint filed by Phogat with the Fatehabad district police on Tuesday, a case has been registered. Congress leader Kuldeep Bishnoi defeated Phogat by nearly 30,000 votes.
