Hathras Lok Sabha Constituency, Uttar Pradesh: Current MP, Candidates, Polling Date and Election Results

The Hathras Lok Sabha constituency, one of the 80 seats in Uttar Pradesh will go for polls on Thursday, April 18 in the second phase of Lok Sabha elections 2019. Rajesh Kumar Diwakar of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is the current Member of Parliament of Hathras.

In 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the saffron party has denied ticket to Rajesh Diwakar, the incumbent MP and have instead put their trust on Rajveer Singh Balmiki who is the son of Kishan Lal a four-term MP from the constituency. Samajwadi Party leader Ramji Lal Suman is Mahagathbandhan’s candidate, while the Congress party has given ticket to Trilokiram Diwakar.

In the second phase of Lok Sabha elections 2019, eight seats of Uttar Pradesh are set to undergo polling. The other seven constituencies from Uttar Pradesh which will vote on April 18 are Nagina, Amroha, Aligarh, Fatehpur Sikri, Bulandshahr, Mathura, Agra.

Hathras Lok Sabha constituency comprises the following five Vidhan Sabha (legislative assembly) segments: Chharra, Iglas, Hathras, Sadabad and Sikandra Rao.

In the second phase of elections, 97 parliamentary constituencies across India would vote for the Lok Sabha elections 2019.

Runner up name, party: Manoj Kumar Soni, BSP

Number of voters polled in 2014: 10,49,273

Percentage of votes polled in 2014: 59.66

Along with Lok Sabha Elections, voting will also take place for the second phase of Odisha Assembly Elections 2019. The turnout in the last general election in 2014 was more than 66%, up from 45% in 1951 when the first election was held.
