HD Deve Gowda declared his unconditional support to Rahul Gandhi for Prime Ministerial post

Former Prime Minister and National President of the Janata Dal Party, HD Deve Gowda declared to offer an unconditional support to Congress President Rahul Gandhi for the Prime Ministerial post after the Lok Sabha elections 2019 on Tuesday.

Deve Gowda announced this while addressing a campaign rally in support of Congress candidate VS Ugrappa in Ballary where he said that he and his party will extend full support to Rahul Gandhi for the Prime Ministerial position after Lok Sabha elections in 2019 and also challenged that he will come up with a strong secular brigade to counter the communal Bharatiya Janata Party.

He clearly refused to respond to a statement made by a senior leader after he was asked to react over Congress senior leader P Chidambaram’s previous statement where he had said that the party is yet to declare its Prime Minister candidate.

However, he appreciated Telugu Desam Party chief Chandra Babu Naidu for his work and said that he played an important role in the formation of the National Front government which Deve Gowda headed in 1996.

Further, he said that BSP leader Mayawati has also lent complete support to JDS in Karnataka and will be supporting Congress to during the upcoming Lok Sabha elections 2019.
