Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate for the Mathura Lok Sabha seat, the sitting Member of Parliament (MP) and renowned film actor Hema Malini has a total wealth of over a billion. According to the affidavit filed by the Bollywood star with poll panel, an increase of a whopping Rs 34.46 was seen in the MP’s assets.
In the affidavit, it was shown that Hema Malini presently owns a total wealth including asset such as bungalows, jewellery, cash, shares and term deposits over Rs 101 crore. At the time of the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, her total assets were valued at almost Rs 66 crore. The affidavit reads that Hema Malini has two cars, including a Mercedes, bought for Rs 33.62 lakh in the year 2011.
According to the affidavit, Hema Malini got a PhD degree in 2012 from Padampati Singhania University at Udaipur.
This is the second time she has secured a ticket for Mathura, her parliamentary constituency. The Congress has fielded Mahesh Pathak and the SP-BSP-RLD alliance’s candidate is Kunwar Narendra Singh.
Last week, Hema Malini clarified that she would not be interested in shifting to any other constituency, as she was deeply attached to Mathura due to her devotion to Lord Krishna.
Hema Malini, who joined the saffron party in the year 2004, has served as an MP in the Rajya Sabha from 2003 to 2009. She was elected from the Mathura seat in the 2014 Lok Sabha Elections, where she defeated RLD’ Jayant Choudhary.
