Himachal Pradesh chief minister, Virbhadra Singh, on Friday filed his nominations for the upcoming state polls from Arki instead of Theog constituency, where he has traditionally fought his elections. As per reports, Singh plans to give up his seat, in favour of his son, Vikramaditya Singh.
The CM also took a dig at the opposition BJP party and said that GST and demonetisation are major issues favouring Congress in the upcoming election and the party will again form the government in the state based solely on its development agenda.
The assembly elections in the state will be held as a single phase on 9 November. The counting of votes will be held on 18 December, 2017.
