How much does Prince Harry, Meghan Markle spend on security?

Two days after a near-fatal paparazzi automobile pursuit, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle spend $2 million on security.

After the royal family removed their bodyguards, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex had to pay a lot to protect Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

Harry sued British officials last year after realising that he could not bring private armed guards to England due to UK law. Private security is so important to the newlyweds.

The former Kim Kardashian bodyguard was seen hiking with Markle.

The redheaded royal, who has lived in the US since he and Markle quit in 2020, has also said that private protection is one of his motivations for negotiating lucrative relationships there.

Forbes claimed in 2021 that security experts estimated Harry and Meghan’s 24-hour security cost $3 million.

Harry, 38, and Markle, 41, were “extremely upset and shaken” by Page Six early Wednesday after a “near-catastrophic” two-hour paparazzi chase in New York City Tuesday evening.

After an awards ceremony at 10 p.m., cameras followed them and the former actress’ mother, Doria Ragland, in a car. They took a yellow cab to escape paparazzi.

Their representative said the “relentless pursuit” caused “multiple near collisions” and lasted over two hours.

The NYPD said numerous photographers “made their transport challenging” and that Harry and Meghan had an altercation.

Police reported no injuries or arrests. Buckingham Palace hasn’t said yet.

Backgrid, an entertainment picture agency, said it was investigating other freelance photographers’ conduct, although their initial stories differed from the Sussexes’.

The chase featured six cars, and the drivers ran red lights, drove on the sidewalk, blocked traffic and even reversed down a one-way street.

The NYPD representative denied numerous of the Sussexes’ claims.

Police said, “There were many photographers that made their transport challenging.”

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex arrived without collisions, summonses, injuries, or arrests.

Mayor Eric Adams says two police officers “could have been injured.”
