After Priyanka Gandhi attacked PM Modi during her debut Uttar Pradesh poll campaign, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday took a jibe at the new leader saying that it’s best to ignore a “part time politician,” who makes remarks while being ignorant about the nation’s political developments.

Priyanka joined brother, Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi on Friday in attacking PM Modi over his demonetization move, saying it has only triggered pain to the poor.

“The part-time politicians and campaigners of Congress do not try to understand the real impact of demonetisation by making irresponsible statements. Demonetisation has only affected those who have amassed black money. Priyanka Gandhi comes once in a while during election periods and makes statements without even studying what really happened in the past. She is making comments unaware of the political developments, which I think is best to ignore,” said BJP leader S. Prakash as per the reports.

The Congress campaigner pushed the campaign trail for Uttar Pradesh Assembly election with addressing a rally at her mother Sonia Gandhi’s Lok Sabha constituency Raebareli together with Rahul. “UP doesn’t need a leader from outside. All youth of the state can lead UP, build a new UP,” said Priyanka.

Commenting on PM Modi’s promises to women of the state, she said, “I am a woman…Who has committed the most number of atrocities against women, poor? Wasn’t making you stand in queues atrocities against women?” She also asserted that UP doesn’t require an “outsider” to develop the state.
