Independence Day 2023: According to an advisory from the Ministry of Home Affairs, the celebration of Independence Day or the hoisting of the National Flag in state capitals or district headquarters/subdivisions should begin after 9 a.m. The Ministry disclosed the comprehensive schedule for the 77th celebration of Independence Day.

Independence Day 2023 Schedule of Events at Red Fort

On August 15, 2023, the nation will celebrate its 77th Independence Day. This important occasion is a national holiday that honours and honours India’s valiant journey to independence. Patriotic melodies, flamboyant cultural celebrations, and poignant acts like the raising of the flag serve as evocative reminders of the nation’s hard-won independence.

In conjunction with preparations for the event, the Ministry of Home Affairs has released the schedule for Independence Day celebrations. In state capitals or district headquarters/subdivisions, the observance of Independence Day or raising of the National Flag should begin after 9 a.m., per the advisory.

The Armed Forces and Delhi Police will present the Prime Minister with a Guard of Honour for the Independence Day ceremony at the Red Fort in Delhi. Following this will be the hoisting of the flag, the playing of the national anthem, and a 21-gun salute. The sky will be flooded with tricolored balloons following the cultural programme and other events.

According to a report by the PIB, approximately 1,800 distinguished guests from across the country will attend the flag-raising ceremony for Independence Day at the Red Fort in New Delhi.

Rashtrapati Bhawan will host the At Home reception later in the evening. In addition to the usual protocol invitees, a diversity of attendees will be present at the event. In addition to frontline health workers, experts from a variety of fields, and researchers/innovators, invitations may be extended to other visitors.

In addition to the festivities, the ‘Meri Mati Mera Desh’ campaign will commemorate the country’s martyrs on this Independence Day. This campaign was introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on July 30 during his 103rd Mann Ki Baat radio session. The campaign will be observed from August 9 to August 15. The objective of the Meri Mati Mera Desh campaign is to commemorate the valour of India. It will be a component of the ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ festival, which commemorates the nation’s freedom fighters.

There will be numerous activities associated with the campaign, such as the “Amrit Kalash Yatra,” in which containers will convey plants and soil from various regions of the country. This sediment will be used to build a ‘Amrit Vatika’ near to the National War Memorial.
