India-Pakistan 2023 ODI World Cup: India and Pakistan’s highly anticipated 2023 ODI World Cup match has been rescheduled for Saturday, October 14.
Initially, the meeting between the two bitter rivals was scheduled to take place on Sunday, October 15 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. On the other hand, the tournament will commence on October 5 at the same location with England taking on New Zealand.
However, because October 15 coincides with the first day of the Navratri festival, which is widely celebrated with great fervour in the state of Gujarat, the authorities have decided to advance the competition by one day, as reported by Sports Tak.
The initial publication of the schedule was delayed because the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had reservations about playing in Ahmedabad, which led to the delay in the first place.
The schedule was scheduled to be published during the World Test Championship (WTC) Final, but it was released on June 27 instead.
The rescheduling of the India-Pakistan match will also result in a minor rearrangement of the remaining fixtures. The report also indicates that the revised schedule will be published on July 31.
Fans had already made accommodation and travel arrangements at inflated prices, which could prove to be a significant inconvenience if their reservations are non-refundable or non-transferable.
India and Pakistan are scheduled to meet in the 2023 Asia Cup.
During the 2023 Asia Cup in Sri Lanka, the neighbouring nations are scheduled to play each other. The two teams are grouped with Nepal in the group stage, and if they advance to the Super 4s and the final, they could potentially encounter each other twice more in quick succession.
Their group stage meeting will take place on Saturday, September 2 at Pallekele. The tournament will commence on August 30 using a hybrid format, with Pakistan assigned to host four matches, including the tournament opening. All of India’s matches are scheduled to take place in Sri Lanka.
