India Weather Update: No Respite From Heatwave, IMD Forecasts Soaring Temperatures In Coming Days

India Weather Update: Indians are not likely to see a respite from the soaring temperatures anytime soon, according to the India Meteorological Department’s (IMD) Sunday weather bulletin.

The IMD forecasts heatwave conditions in parts of Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal for the next five days.

The heatwave is also predicted for isolated areas of Bihar, Jharkhand, Rayalaseema, interior Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu. West Assam, Meghalaya, and Tripura can also expect hot and humid weather during April 28 and 29.

A hot and humid weather forecast has also been issued for coastal Karnataka, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Konkan, and Goa between April 28 and May 2.

Light to moderate rainfall, isolated thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds (40-50 kmph) are forecast in Arunachal Pradesh from April 28 to May 2, as well as scattered to fairly widespread rainfall in Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura.

Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and Meghalaya are likely to experience isolated heavy rainfall during this time period, with Arunachal Pradesh experiencing very heavy rainfall from April 30 to May 2.

From April 28 to 30, 2024, fairly widespread to widespread light to moderate rainfall and snowfall is predicted in Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, and isolated rainfall in Uttarakhand.

On April 28 and 29, hailstorms are expected in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, as well as isolated heavy rainfall in Jammu-Kashmir-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad on April 28 and 29.

On April 28 and 29, Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi could experience isolated to scattered rainfall with thunderstorms and gusty winds (40-50 kmph).

On April 28, Punjab may experience isolated hailstorms and strong surface winds (25-35 kmph) in east Uttar Pradesh and west Rajasthan.

On April 28, isolated light rainfall, thunderstorms and gusty winds (30-40 kmph) are predicted in Maharashtra, Marathwada, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh and Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal in the central and southern regions of India.

On April 28 and 30, East Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha may experience isolated hailstorms, while Kerala and Mahe might see light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning.
