India to Get Its First Vande Bharat Metro Soon: According to a senior official linked to the project, Indian Railways is planning to launch the country’s first metro, Vande Bharat Metro, aimed at revolutionizing intra-city transportation.
It follows the successful introduction of the Vande Bharat Express trains to the Indian railway network.
As of July 2024, the trail run for the Vande Bharat Metro will begin. All preparations are in progress, according to the official. With its rapid acceleration and deceleration capabilities, the Vande Metro optimises stoppage times and caters to urban lifestyles that are fast-paced.
In 2024, officials plan to roll out Vande Bharat Metro.
“ Its testing will start in another couple of months. Besides having automatic doors and high comfort quotient, it will have many such features which are not available in currently running metro trains,” the official said.
Public details and pictures of the metro’s additional features will be released soon.
Each Vande Metro train will have four coaches, with a minimum of 12 coaches forming a complete Vande Metro train, according to Railway sources.
At first, Vande Metro will introduce 12 coaches, with the possibility of expanding to 16 coaches based on route demand.
“Initially, we will have a 12-coach metro, but this can be expanded to 16 coaches depending on city demand,” the official said.
A decision has been made regarding which city will be the first to receive the Vande Bharat Metro.
