Indian Railways to Operate Special Trains for Ram Navami 2024: As a significant influx of devotees is anticipated to visit the Ram Mandir on the auspicious occasion of Ram Navami, the Indian Railways has decided to operate special trains from Lucknow to Ayodhya in advance of that date.

This will be the first Ram Navami after the ‘pran-pratishtha’ or consecration ceremony at the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh.

Huge crowds surround Ayodhya daily since the grand opening of the temple this year.

Chaitra Navratri, also known as Vasanta Navratri, begins on April 9 and ends on Ram Navami, April 17.

The Railways would boost Ayodhya train frequency in expectation of a passenger rise in the coming days. They are also planning a 130-km-per-hour Ayodhya rail service. This reduces travel time by at least 30 minutes.

The Kashi Vishwanath Corridor has seen more people commuting to Varanasi and Ayodhya. Sachinder Mohan Sharma, DRM, Northern Railway, Lucknow division, said the Railways will run special trains from Lucknow to Ayodhya.

Sharma said the Railways are preparing to protect at least 35,000 passengers on Ram Navami. We make attempts to run consecutive trains.

He noted that pilgrimage to Ayodhya and Varanasi, two religious cities, have been rising. Northern Railway will add services to these two cities.

Meanwhile, the Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra foundation is preparing for April 17 Ram Navami.

At a recent meeting, the trust decided that Prasad Bharati would install about 100 LED screens or LED walls in the Ayodhya Municipal Corporation and surrounding markets to broadcast the festivities in real time.

They added seven ‘darshan’ aisles to accommodate additional people.

According to trust secretary Champat Rai, the trust is considering extending darshan hours from 14 to 20 to accommodate more guests during Ram Navami.
