Indian Railways to run 250 special trains for Chhath Puja; Check details

Indian Railways is running 2,561 trips of 211 special trains (in pairs) until Chhath Puja this year to handle the extra number of people travelling during the holiday season.

Ashwini Vaishnaw, the minister of the Union Railways, said that more than 250 special trains have been set up for the upcoming Chhath Puja.

“We’ve started more than 250 trains for Chhath Puja. About 1.4 million berths have been made available, and Ashwini Viashnaw said, “We will do whatever is necessary for the people.”

Indian Railways is running 2,561 trips of 211 special trains (in pairs) until Chhath Puja this year to handle the extra number of people travelling during the holiday season.

He also gave his best wishes for the Chhath Puja.

The Union Minister also said, “I wish everyone a very happy and prosperous Chhath Puja.”

During the festival, which will be held this year from October 28 to 31, people will worship the Sun God.

In a statement released earlier this month, the Ministry of Railways said that the Indian Railways will be running an extra 32 special services to make sure that travellers have a smooth and comfortable holiday season.

Special trains will run between major cities like Darbhanga, Azamgarh, Saharsa, Bhagalpur, Muzaffarpur, Firozpur, Patna, Katihar, Amritsar, etc., that are connected by rail. In an earlier Ministry statement, it was also said that “May I Help You” booths are kept open at important stations, where RPF personnel and TTEs are sent to help and guide passengers. At major stations, medical teams are always ready to help. There is also an ambulance with a medical team.

Nitish Kumar, the chief minister of Bihar, asked the Centre on Tuesday morning to set up special trains for Chhath Puja so that people could go back to their homes for the festival.

Bihar asked the railway ministry to set up special trains for Chhath Puja.

In preparation for Chhath Mahaparv, the chief secretary of Bihar called the senior officials of the Ministry of Railways at the request of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, according to an official press release in Hindi.

“The most important holiday in Bihar is Chhath Mahaparv. The Chief Secretary said, “There are a lot of Biharis who live outside of Bihar who come back to the state to attend the Mahaparv.”

A close eye is kept on any wrongdoing, such as cornering of seats, overcharging, and touting, among other things. The Railways Ministry said earlier that measures are being taken to control crowds by forming lines at the end stations under the watch of RPF staff to make sure that passengers can get into unreserved coaches in an orderly way.

In Bihar, Jharkhand, and the eastern part of Uttar Pradesh, Chhath Puja is one of the best festivals. The four-day festival begins with the ritual called “Nahai Khai” and ends with “Usha Arghya” (prayers to the rising sun).

During the festival, which will be held this year from October 28 to 31, people will worship the Sun God.

People believe that Surya Bhagwan, or the Sun God, is what keeps life going on Earth.
