When was the last time the Indiana Pacers won an NBA championship?

Since joining the NBA in 1976, the Indiana Pacers have never won a championship.

In 2000, they reached the NBA Finals but lost to Shaquille O’Neal and Kobe Bryant’s Los Angeles Lakers.

The Pacers were founded in 1967 as members of the ABA. Three other ABA teams joined the NBA in 1976, including the Spurs, Nuggets, and Nets.

During 1993-94 and 1994-95, the Pacers reached the conference finals, losing in seven games each time.

In 1995-96, Indiana advanced to the conference finals under head coach Larry Bird, but were eliminated by the eventual-champion Chicago Bulls. Indiana returned to the Eastern Conference finals in 1998-99, but lost there for the fourth time in six years.

In 1999-2000, the Pacers made it to the NBA finals, but lost to the Los Angeles Lakers in six games.

After Miller’s retirement in 2005, the Pacers began a rebuilding effort, returning to the playoffs in 2010-11 after five straight playoff berths from 2000-01 to 2004-05.

The Pacers advanced to the conference finals in 2012-13, but lost to the Miami Heat in seven games.

Despite losing star guard Victor Oladipo to a season-ending injury in 2019, the Pacers rallied to make another playoff appearance in 2018-19.
