Arun Jaitley Stadium IPL 2026: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has released the schedule for the first phase of the IPL 2026 season. This part of the tournament will take place from March 28 to April 12. The rest of the schedule will be announced later.

The reason for the delay is the upcoming State Assembly elections. Voting will take place in West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Assam. Because of this, the full IPL schedule will only be confirmed once the election dates are officially declared.

The new season will begin with an exciting opening match. Defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) will face Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), the champions from 2016. This first game will be played at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

The second match of the tournament will take place the next day. Mumbai Indians (MI) will play against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on March 29.

Delhi Capitals Home Matches in Delhi

Delhi Capitals will play their first home match of the IPL 2026 season on April 4. In this game they will face Mumbai Indians at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. This will be a day match starting in the afternoon.

The team’s second home match will be played a few days later. Delhi Capitals will meet Gujarat Titans at the same stadium on April 8. This match will take place in the evening.

The home match schedule for Delhi Capitals at Arun Jaitley Stadium is as follows:

  • Match 8: April 4 – Delhi Capitals vs Mumbai Indians, Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi (3:30pm)
  • Match 14: April 8 – Delhi Capitals vs Gujarat Titans, Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi (7:30pm)

These games will be important early matches for the Delhi franchise in the new season.

Delhi Capitals Squad Additions at IPL 2026 Auction

Before the new season, Delhi Capitals added several players during the IPL 2026 auction. The mini-auction was held in Abu Dhabi in December last year. During the auction the franchise bought eight new players.

The team’s biggest purchase was Jammu and Kashmir fast bowler Auqib Dar. He played an important role in helping his state win the Ranji Trophy. Delhi Capitals bought him for ₹8.40 crore.

The team also added several overseas players to strengthen the squad. These include Pathum Nissanka for ₹4 crore, Kyle Jamieson for ₹2 crore, Lungi Ngidi for ₹2 crore, Ben Duckett for ₹2 crore, and David Miller for ₹2 crore.

Delhi Capitals also brought back Indian batter Prithvi Shaw for ₹75 lakh. Another young uncapped player, Sahil Parakh, was purchased for ₹30 lakh.
