As per the latest reports, Rajya Sabha will discuss the Kashmir situation at 11 am today.
Full cabinet meeting underway at the Prime Minister’s residence
After security cabinet meeting, a full cabinet meeting in underway at at the prime minister’s residence at 7, Lok Kalyan Marg.
All communication sources snapped as of now
All means of communications have been snapped in Jammu and Kashmir. Administration has jammed all mobile and internet services. Even TV networks and landlines are not working.
Section 144 Imposed in Srinagar
Restrictions were imposed under section 144 CrPC in district Srinagar with effect from midnight 5th August (Monday) which shall remain in force till further orders, the state government said.
There shall be no movement of public and all educational institutions shall also remain closed.
“There will be a complete bar on holding any kind of public meetings or rallies during the period of operation of this order. It should be noted that there will be no curfew in place as reported in a section of the media.”
Former J&K chief minister Mehbooba Mufti Under House Arrest

Sushma Chauhan, Deputy Commissioner, Jammu advised all schools, colleges and academic institutions to remain close as a measure of caution.
Former J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, in a tweet on Sunday night, said that he is being placed under house arrest and that the process has been started for other mainstream leaders too.

Mobile internet services were suspended in Kashmir Sunday night amid continuing tensions in Jammu and Kashmir.
Earlier on Sunday, National Conference leader Farooq Abdullah, after an all-party meeting said that they will defend identity, autonomy & special status of the state against all attacks.
Omar Abdullah on Sunday night tweeted that he is being be placed under house arrest.
