The project, which Jehanabad district will build in the Vanavar (Barabar hills) area, serves as the state’s second major ropeway system that will enhance both accessibility and tourist attractions in the region.

The ropeway development connects the base area of Makhdumpur block in Jehanabad to the Vanavar hills, which people commonly refer to as the “Himalayas of Magadh.” The ancient Barabar caves, which belong to the Mauryan period, remain accessible throughout the region because they represent one of India’s oldest rock-cut cave systems.
The construction work on the project started after the project received official approval which had been pending since its initiation more than three years ago. After the required forest areas were cleared and basic construction work started.
